Billy Witherspoon

I am Billy Witherspoon, Assistant Director at UCAN City Mission. I began working at UCAN in 2019 as a part-time Operations Staff and am blessed to have become the Assistant Director in 2020. Helping those in need has been a part of my life since I was young child volunteering at our church’s food pantry and holiday dinner giveaways, which turned into time spent working at local agencies like Chautauqua Striders, Chautauqua Opportunities, The G.A. Children’s Home, the Boys and Girls Club, and Infinity Visual and Performing Arts. I am proud to represent UCAN and continue to be a part of an agency working to change lives through our shelter program and being involved in local committees related to issues facing the population we serve. Being from Jamestown, my desire is to see my hometown thrive and be a place we are all proud to call home. Assisting those in need in breaking the cycle of homelessness and becoming productive citizens is a big part of the investment into our community’s future.
Prayer for our community and its members is also vital for those changes to take place. I live in Jamestown with my beautiful wife, Liz, and our six children, Landyn, Lilly, Melani, Nola, Omelia, and Parker. I am active in my local church and help with coaching our kids’ sports teams.
